The Charity Fat Cats

Just £2 per month we can end suffering, poverty, cruelty to whole number of causes. You must have seen the adverts. So how come after all these years we still have the same problems? After all this time these third world countries are still in such a state? Could it be that your hard earned money that you so generously donate doesn't even leave the country, or for that matter leave the organisation you have paid it too. Just a little bit of research and you will see that the CEO's of your favourite charity are drawing salaries in excess of £100,000 / year not to mention their pension contribution of in the excess of £20,000 / year.

Amazing considering that most local charities, struggling to get funding, do excellent work, run mainly by volunteers tend to run on about £10,000 to £20,000 / year.

Now I totally understand that in order to become a successful charity you need someone with a good business background and acumen, but come on its still a not-for-profit charity and £100,000+ a year is taking the piss. If they want to earn that kind of money then work for a business, not a charity. Considering people are paying their hard earned money and only a small percentage is actually going to the cause is wrong.

My advise is donate to you local charities who are run by volunteers. Local Youth Organisations where you will find that 100% of you donation will go to benefit the cause.

If you are still unsure then see my previous post - local sea cadet units are volunteer run charities and i can guarantee your generous donation wont go to line some fat cats pocket.
